Dan Harvey is a recently retired Officer in the Irish Defence Forces of Lieutenant Colonel rank. His 40 years service saw him serve on operations at home during ‘the Troubles’ and on many Peacekeeping Missions abroad, including tours of duty in the Middle East, Africa, the Balkans, and South Caucasus with the UN, EU, NATO PfP, and OSCE. A qualified Museum Curator he has been involved with a number of Military Exhibitions from local Barrack to National Museum of Ireland level. Most unusually for a serving officer in the Irish Defence Forces he was an author of several books on Irish Defence Forces missions, and has championed the involvement of Irish Soldiers service in foreign armies.
